Shaylee
Shaylee is a senior in high school at The Baylor School in Chattanooga Tennessee. She is a boarder and has been since her sophomore year. She loves the school, loves her friends, loves living away from home, and loves her freedom. I can’t imagine that I would be around to blog this if Shaylee hadn’t gone away to school. I think one of us would have killed the other if she lived at home full time.
You see, Shaylee is a “mini me,” all the shit that comes from me, she got in large doses. It makes parenting difficult and I annoy her fiercely. But, when the chips are down, nobody on the face of the earth understands us better than each other.
Shaylee loves babies. She loves mothering and will be an amazing mom someday. She is motivated and passionate and loves without boundaries. Did you hear that right there? Passionate and no boundaries….Yep, she gets that from me!
She is currently looking at colleges and before I know it, I will have two full time college students. I think Shaylee will hang out in the South. She loves it there. Since Eric is such a big part of Shaylee's life, I think she will hang close to his home base in Chattanooga. But, I've been wrong before.
Shaylee is by far more equipped at real life than Brons. If I died tomorrow, Shaylee could take over this household and run it better than I can. She understands money, bills, child-rearing and big things like that. She is prepared for life after college, so I think she will do fabulous in college.
She wants to study medicine or be a teacher. She hasn't decided.
Her favorite color is purple. Her favorite time of day is noon. She loves all music. She loves to sing and I love to sing with her. Nothing is more fun than a concert in the car with Shay. We turn the music up full blast and sing at the top of our lungs! That, along with a day at the mall is total perfection.
