Jace

The Chosen Child-

Today, while shoe shopping, Jace stopped in the middle of trying to get his foot in a new shoe, looked up at me and said, "Mom, I am so glad you adopted me."  And that is Jace in a nutshell.  He is a love and knows how to charm the socks off of anybody.  I have had more parents, coaches, and teachers, stop me, or email me, or even call me, to tell me what a sweetheart my boy is.  As a mother, I can't think of a greater thing to hear.  He makes me so happy.

Jace is an athlete.  It doesn't matter what sport he is playing, he excels at it.  He is fast and determined and focused.  He is every coaches dream.  Currently the only sport Jace is doing is swimming.  (Next year we will let him add more to his list.)  In the water, the kid is a fish.  He is getting faster and building his endurance.  He loves to compete and he shines in his swim meets.

Jace and I just went over his 2nd grade "get to know you" paper.

  • Favorite Music- Right Round by Flo Rider.
  • I am the happiest when- Afternoon.
  • I am the saddest when- Someone gets their feelings hurt.
  • Favorite thing about school- Recess
  • What are some things you know a lot about- I know there will be harder words in second grade.

Jace was my caboose.  He was the cherry on top of my perfect family.  Little did we know, that a lot of little sisters would follow him.  Jace was four months old when Jazzi joined us and 15 months old when Kate was born. He can't remember life without his sisters. Jace and the girls are good friends.  They plan to attend boarding school in the same place and hope to make their homes next door to each other.

Jace is seven, going to 2nd grade and loving life in California.  Me? I am the luckiest mom in the world.
