Wednesdays are my favorite
I love Wednesdays. They are a little bit different than the other days in the week for multiple reasons. But this post is about early out day. You see all my elementary aged kids get out early on Wednesdays. That means I pick up Jace, Jazzi and Kate BEFORE I pick up Hunter. I don’t have time to take them home before I have to get on the freeway so they come along for the ride and I always get them a drink or a shake on Wednesdays to make up for being stuck in the car for an hour.
Personally, I love it. I am never more entertained than I am on Wednesday afternoons listening to those three. This past Wednesday, we pulled right up next a car being driven by a young girl, maybe early twenties. She was beautiful. BUT she had a cigarette in her mouth.
Jace started, "That girl is ruining our environment. When she is done smoking that thing, she is going to toss it out the window and it will never go away. It will get in our oceans and kill our fish."
Kate said, " That girl is ruining her lungs. She is going to die you know. Every time she sucks in, she is breathing poisonous stuff into her body. It will give her cancer or make her die."
Jasmine sat listening for a minute while Kate and Jace argued back and forth over what was worse, her dying, or the fish dying.
Jazzi finally piped up with, "I’ll tell you both what she is going to ruin….. HER LIPSTICK."
And the light changed and we drove away.
if that little conversation in the back seat didn’t sum up my three…..
I chuckled all the way home.
Two more hours until pick up. I can’t wait to hear what they will talk about today. I love my monsters.

Dance team try-outs

They had try-outs today for the competition team. They did their very best but didn’t make it.
They will continue to do dance three days a week and hopefully next year, if they still want it, they’ll try-out again and make it.
The story today is that they were posting the results on the studio window at 6pm.
The girls wanted to ride over to see if their names were on the list.
Jasmine couldn’t figure out why she didn’t need to be in her dance clothes.
I said, "Jazz, all we are doing is looking at a piece of paper on the window, you don’t even need to get out of the car."
Jazzi said, "I still don’t get it. Aren’t they going to say, you’re going to Hollywood, and then we have a celebration?"

Today
We had swimming lessons-

Then we raced like crazy people to Anaheim for Jazzi’s hairdo.

I left Shaylee in Anaheim with Jazzi so I could do the other hundred things I had to today. In fact, I haven’t even seen Jazzi at the writing of this post. She is in bed asleep and I am only getting to see the pictures. Thank you Shay for doing this most unpleasant job and taking pictures for me.
Meanwhile…
Ty got his braces on-

He is such a pansy. He was excited and terrified and he continued to talk to us even with this contraption in his mouth.
"I done?"
"No, not yet."
"Almost?"
"No Ty, stop talking."
"Not scary huh?"
"Shut up Ty, you keep getting your teeth wet."
"I good huh?"
"SHHHHHHHH"
Ty looks around
"I done?"
…
He gave the office a run for their money.

I made it home from Ty’s appointment just in time to get Kate to ballet, sans Jazzi, and Jace to his swim meet. We were late, but we made it for a warm up.
Brandon returned to Anaheim in the traffic to fetch the girls and made it back just in time to witness our boy kick some ass in the meet. I can’t wait to see the official results of this heat because I think Jace may have won it. BUT, we will happily take a second. Jace is a force!
I didn’t think I could pull it all off this morning, but we did it. "We" being the key word.

How did this happen?

I am clearly over feeding and over sleeping them.
They are growing so fast, I can see it happening.
This group right here, we call them, "The babies."
We have a new group of babies, but this little group has yet to lose the name.
This picture makes me melancholy. They are clearly small people, not babies anymore. Kinda breaks my heart.
To Jace, Jazz and Kate-
SLOW DOWN! I am not ready for you three to grow up yet.
love, mom

Dear Jazzi-
We have been on the count down to your birthday for weeks. Everyday you have been telling me what you want to do for your birthday, and everyday your plans have changed. This is typical you.
Yesterday you told me about the Ice Cream store that you and Dalin are going to open when you are “big.” You want to sell gingerbread houses at the store. Dalin will sell the ice cream. You both sat at my feet and tried to come up with names. I wanted you to name it “I scream U scream” or “Chocolate and Vanilla’s Shoppe” You didn’t like either one. You wanted “Gingerbread Ice Cream store.” Dalin isn’t sure he wants you to be a partner at this point.
You have been the greatest accidental treasure in this family. Do you know why I call you that? Because I thought I was done adopting babies, and you accidentally skipped right on in. I was just going to ‘keep my eye on you’ for a few weeks and I fell in love with you. I wanted to keep you so bad that I prayed every night that time would stop so I could have you as long as I wanted. My prayers came true. Time didn’t stop, but I got to keep you. I am a lucky mommy.
You were the best baby and you are the best girl. You are so smart and so sweet. You have the BEST imagination I have ever seen. I love the way you think. I bet your brain is full of sparkles, and rainbows, and colors galore.
I love the way you plan your whole life. I used to do that when I was little too. I used to imagine all the babies I would have and what my house would look like. I love that you do that too. Right now, you are telling me that you are going to live right here in “Dara Ranch” and you are going to wear aprons and make salad for lunch everyday. You told me I could come over and eat with you any time I wanted. I can’t wait!
I can’t wait to see what we end up doing today. I hope we get to go to lunch and have a pedicure. But we will probably end up at Chuck E Cheese. I heard you tell Dalin that’s where we were going. What are you going to buy for your birthday? You have everything!! Maybe we can get you some new Dance stuff so you don’t have to share your pink leotard with Kate. You hate when she wants to wear the pink one. Let’s get you your very own.
I bet you are excited for Bronson and Shaylee to come home. You love to have new people here to tell all about your big ideas and plans, and I know they love to listen. I heard you talking to Pickle and telling her very nice things the other day. Thank you for being so sweet to her. I know she loves to terrorize you. Do you know why she comes after you and not Kate? She knows you are too sweet to bop her back. Kate grabs her and holds her, but you don’t, you run away and she loves to chase you. It made me so happy to peek outside and see you both playing together. I KNOW pickle loved to hear your stories.
You are a sweet sister to Ellie. Since Ellie has been sleeping in your room, she is even happier when she wakes up in the morning. Thank you for always singing her songs and talking to her before she even gets out of bed. She loves having you to play with. Ellie is a lucky girl to have you as a sister.
It makes me so happy that you love Dalin so much. Did you know that you two have been best friends since you were a tiny baby? He always wanted to hold you and play with you. I think you guys will be best friends forever. Maybe you can live next door to each other when you are big. How does that sound?
I love you Miss Jazzi. I think you are the cat’s meow. You make me happy. I have had the very best time being your mom. Seven years old is AWESOME! I am so proud of you. You have been a super star this year in school. You are learning so many great things. You are a fantastic friend, sister, and daughter. I love you baby girl.
I hope you have the very best birthday ever. Let’s go shopping!
Love mom.
