Please tell me something about yourself. I have loved getting to know you. When I posted a few weeks ago about Bronson I wasn't in the frame of mind to wrap my brain around all the comments and emails. I have since gone back and read every word. Thank you all for sharing your stories with me. I love learning about my readers. I wish I had more time to read all of your blogs and respond to every email and comment. But I know you know how busy I am. Thank God for my Blackberry.
If you can't think of something to write, here are a few questions to choose from.
Besides your family and friends, what can't you live without?
What's your favorite season and why?
What do you do in your spare time?
Do you watch the Superbowl for the game or the commercials?
Spill your guts folks. I have all weekend to read these suckers. BUT PLEASE REMEMBER, ONE ENTRY PER PERSON.
PS- Parker slept all night long!!
Oh man, I just started reading your blog! But I would LOVE to at least try to answer a question!!!
My favorite season is Fall! I love the coolness and colors, and we have some of the most beautiful canyons here in Utah! But as of today I think every season is my fav except WINTER! I have really had enough freezing already!
TIME TO WARM UP!!!!!
I am the mother of four, ranging from 29 to 23. My second son, died at age 15months from complications during a febrile seizure. I I live in Northern California, with my husband and one of my sons. My daughter is away at college until June. I work in special education at an an alternative elementary school. In my free time I love reading books, reading blogs and spending a little time on Facebook, among other things. Your blog is one of my favorites, especially all the pictures of your adorable children and your honest, upfront writing. Keep it up.
Let's see – I am Kelly – I am over 30 – I only have 3 teenagers – but it feels like 20 somedays…I lvoe my husband but he gets on my very last mother flippin nerve somedays – My brother was murdered 7 years ago but originally they ruled it a suicide – that was harder to take than the thought that he had been murdered -love your blog – love your kids – wish i lived near you
My friends and I call having sex/making love/bumping uglies/fucking (whatever!) "making cookies" or in some cases "eating cookies"
It amused me endlessly just now when one of my friends and I were talking about making cookies and I heard her son in the back ground "mom you made cookies tonight?! with ty?! did he eat all your cookies?!"
We have to clarify now if we mean real cookies or not. if it's real cookies it means baking. if it's the other kind they always have quotes "cookies"
Hi Sandi! I'm a stay at home mother of 4 from Kansas. They are 12, 9 and 16 month old twins. Yes, I'm a little busy but not nearly as busy as you. I'm also married to a wonderful man. In my spare time, I like to play with my camera and read blogs. I love this one.
Yay for Parker!
I am the mother of 1 daughter who is 6 years old. Live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and LOVE the summer season! Beach, pool, minimal clothes! (ha).
Keeping yor family in my thoughts and prayers…esp Bronson! I am amazed at how you keep sane with all your kids – Lord knows I couldn't!
I am a new reader and I love your blog. You have a refreshing voice and I truly admire your strength and energy and honesty. You are brave to share so much of your life and feelings and struggles with us.
I am also remarried so I can identify with the struggles of a second marriage and a "blended" family. My two kids (15 and 12) live with us full time and my stepdaughters (10 and 13) visit every other weekend. We all love each other and get along pretty well so I feel very lucky but it is still so hard sometimes.
One thing most people don't know about me is that we are seriously considering having another baby. I will turn 40 this year and I am panicky that this is my last chance to breed again. I always wanted more babies but not with the first husband. But I am afraid that I am too selfish now. I really like being thin and toned because I have time to work out…I love the freedom we have now that the kids are older and I don't need to hire a sitter…and I love my glass of wine in the evening!
I'm all over this!!! Pick me!
Hi – I'm 32, not married and no kids. I have 2 dogs and 2 chickens.
I enjoy your blog.
I've just recently discovered your blog, but cannot seem to stop reading.
I'm from West Virginia, but am attending college in Iowa.
Part of what kept me reading was the fact that Bronson was hospitalized, because I have also had that joyous experience when I was sixteen. Two years later, I was doing a theology project on adopting local kids, and I came across one of the boys I met in the hospital. The brief bio failed to mention James' love of animals, his protectiveness of his sisters, or the fact that he was abused for most of his childhood. That sparked something in me, and now I plan to become a foster parent in the future.
I enjoy your blog because you adopt children with "problems', and don't give the false impression that everything is amazing all the time- whether you have one kid or fifteen. I am inspired by your strength.
I have never won anything, It would be nice
I was like Parker when I was his age; I simply couldn't sleep in my own room. This was my parents' fault, as they allowed me in their bed at nights. Dad would lie in my bed with me each night until I fell asleep. Then I'd wake up in the middle of the night and run down the hallway into their bedroom, my plastic box of matchbox cars jingling along beside me in place of a teddy bear. I never felt cozier than when in bed with my parents.
My parents felt less cozy, however, and tried to get me to stop. It took several years and many tears, but I finally got the message. Now I'm the opposite of how I was- I can't stand anyone being even in the same part of the house as me when I'm sleeping. And my parents are currently going through the same quandary with my brother…
