I am finding it hard to make everyone happy

Posted by Sandi in blogging, divorce, sex

I am SOOOO ready for November to be over.  I should have never attempted the blogging everyday thing.  I am totally consumed by the next post,  As soon as I hit the publish button the stress of the next post looms.  I lie in bed all night and think about WHAT. TO. BLOG.  I would far rather be sleeping in bed at night or doing other things in bed at night….. This is even causing problems in that department. We had to take the laptop to bed with us last night. (Not so I could blog, but so I could get my head out of life and into sex.)   HOW SAD IS THAT? (Embarrassing to even admit.)

I have readers that want to hear more about being a mom to fourteen children.
I have readers that enjoy reading about the divorce and want to hear more about the road through hell.
I have readers that are curious about all the adoptions, where they all came from, and how we knew they were ours.
I have readers that would love to hear about the special needs of the kids.
And thankfully, some readers, like my mother, would be very happy with pictures of the kids on a daily basis.  I know this would not satisfy my others readers as well.  BUT, I do have freakin’  cute kids.
So can you all help me get through the next few weeks?  I want to hear from you.  What do you want to spend the next two weeks hearing me ramble on about?  Please remember who you are talking to.  Don’t give me something hard to write about.  I will share all my dirt, all my stories, and what I can about my kids.  But don’t ask me to write about cooking and cleaning.  All I can say to that is, “hired help and dominos.”  Certainly not blog worthy.
Shout it out on here if you can.  If not facebook, or my email. sandibenson at gmail dot com.
If you don’t give me a few suggestions.  You will being seeing a lot of pictures.
I am off to spend the day at the beach.  It is 90* here today.  Ali is leaving tonight to return back to a cold UTAH.  So we are taking advantage of the GORGEOUS WEATHER and my FAVORITE place to be.  NEWPORT here we come.

    blog about your pet peeves

  2. Tori says:

you should do profiles of your kids; that’d be sweet. Whats your favorite hobby besides blogging? uhm… yeah. Stuff like that.

Ok ok…hmmm….well lets start with what I don’t want to hear about *grin* SUNSHINE!
I live for sun, but seriously, it appears the big hot ball keeps forgetting us here in London, grrrr! I’m insanely jealous of your Cali sun, I spent some time in SD earlier in the year, and if I could move the whole family out there, I’d be there tomorrow.

    Anyway, I digress. Whoops!

I’d like that your diary is real and honest. None of this, “Look at my perfect family, we never have any problems, la la la la”, I hate that. Just keep it true, I love it :D

Get back to why you started blogging. Don’t write for people to like your blog. Who cares. Write because you enjoy this and like you always said, this is a journal of your kids and your family.
Your post now are not like they used to be when you did not have the audience. I miss the Sandi that used to write. Get her back on her again.

People will always like your blog because who wouldn’t with your life and great kids. Write because Sandi likes to write, not I wonder what all of these people will ike.

There you have it. You asked for it, I shared it.
    Love ya,

I would LOVE to hear about how you schedule your day with such a big family. How you grocery shop. How you go anywhere together. The ins and outs of daily life with lotso of kids. How much food do you make for dinner (OK, how many pizzas do you order?) How many loads of laundry do you do a week?

What may seem mundane to you is fascinating to others, because it must take a lot of talent to organize such a large family!@

  6. Julie says:

I think it would be great if you would devote one day’s blog to each child :) With pictures to make mom happy of course! SO jealous of your weather out here in cold, rainy CT!

  7. DW says:

Don’t listen to any of them Sandi.

You need to sell out to the masses. We want to hear the stuff nobody else is willing to say. Gritty puts the asses in the seats.

Tell us what the laptop had to do with the sex. Tell us your politics – that usually gets people’s blood flowing. Not the rep vs dem stuff because we know you’re an Obama girl. How ’bout your views on the environment, and immigration. And I think we have a good take on your struggle with your faith, but I’m intruiged with how you say you are over the church, yet you can’t seem to break free entirely…and that bugs you, doesn’t it? Tell us more about that.

Don’t leave out any fights – those are a blast. You’ve mentioned a few w/ Brandon and the ex. How about a few of the ugly ones with family?

Tell us about a most embarrassing moment. Tell us about your bad habits.

Come on, Sandi – bring your A game! Get PISSED!

I am with DW on this one Sandi. You are the Howard Stern of Mormon Mommy Blogs, the real deal, the naked truth, a very interesting soul bearing itself and willing to do so honestly and without concern with what other may think.

You never really cared what other people thought before why start now. I understand the preasure of the daily grind, I will send you a bunch of ideas. Or you could do what Howard does and have guests. I would love to guest post my thought on your life.

BTW – you are a web cam away from a very profitable business with your laptop in your bed. I think the market for Momies of 14 kids is big and very underserved at the moment.

  9. Kristen says:

    Sandi-
You are seriously funny! I love the blog – wish I knew how to do all the fancy stuff you do. WOW – 14 kids! I almost went literally insane delivering 3, so I am very impressed and can’t wait to spend more time reading your blog!
    Kristen

  10. Dave says:

Oh no, funs over, Kristen found the blog. Just teasing you K, as much as things change they just stay the same. Love you.

  11. sandi says:

Thank you all for commenting and sharing your vastly different views.

@Happy Campers- It would be easier for me to just invite you over and let you follow me around. Do you like Pizza and chaos? Come on over.
Thanks for the suggestions though. I am the worlds biggest fan of Jon and Kate plus eight, so I know what you mean. I love seeing how she does it all.

@Julie and Tory- I am going to tell you all about my kids very soon. The problem is my big kids, they freak out when I threaten to blog their escapades. But they are so funny. Oh the drama of growing up with a mother like me in a house like this.

@kimmy- Thank you for always commenting on my blogs. You know how much I love to hear from you. While you are jealous of our weather, we are jealous of your accent.

You know I will always keep it real. No matter what I am blogging about, I only KNOW real. I could never write fiction, or anything for that matter that I wasn’t passionate about. And this family will never be perfect, my marriage will never be perfect as long as I’m in it. So you are in luck. True stories from the heart about an imperfect family!

@denise- You are a hard one to say anything to, my blog is evolving, it is still my journal, it contains far more writing and less pictures than when I started a few months ago, but I am writing for me, about my life, my stress, my kids, my hopes…..It feels real and true to me. But I understand that this request contradicts that. If I am writing for me, than why am I asking everyone what they want to hear? Only because I am not a “write in my blog everyday” type of person. I write when I need to. But this stupid NoBloPoMo has me racking my brain for posts. I am not the only blogger going through this. It is a writing exercise for bloggers all over the world. AND It is definitely an EXERCISE!

@DW and Dave- Guys, It has been fun to have you visit. You have put my stats through the roof! Highest ratings of all time since you two started yapping on here. I am sure my more conservative visitors have left, but you two have filled the seats with some bad asses for sure. I love your input. I hope you stick around even when it leans to the mommy side. Bottom line. I am the “Mormon Mommy on CRACK and heading to HELL.” I can’t change who I am. Lord knows there are days I want to. So for now, It is Marie Osmond meets Howard Stern. Much like my Ipod, I shuffle.

Love to all of you for commenting.

PS @Shay. You get a free roundtrip ticket to CA for being the first one to comment! YEA for you. see you next week!

Heyy. Maybe you could ask your kids to write something each.. sort of like guest blogging. :D It would be fun, I think. I like the profiles idea too. It could go with photos. :D

    PS. I know.. I’m kinda late in commenting… :D

  13. Jennifer says:

When I started blogging I challenged myself to post everyday–and it HAS been a challenge!!

I would love to hear about the adoptions and also stuff like how you get around–what kind of car you use, etc.

  14. Stephanie says:

This conservative republican is still hanging in there because your blogs make me laugh.
    Love from Tennessee~
    Stephanie

  15. Chris says:

Ok…I’m just a little curious. How do you and your husband support a family of 14? The one thing I love about your blog is your honesty. Oh and all your beautiful children! Thank you and I hope I didn’t offend you.
